SEASON 1 / EPISODE 2: AGAINST THE ODDS PODCAST

Smashing Blindness with local hero Wayne Pugh

In this two-part podcast: how hard is it for any terminally ill person to have to admit to their loved ones that they have just four days left to live?

For Wayne Pugh, whom at the age of 29 was told his internal organs were failing due to his diabetes - said it was the hardest thing he had ever had to put to his parents.

Almost 10 years on – and following three life-changing experiences and countless operations - Wayne - who was crowned North Staffordshire hero 2019 by the Sentinel - is now loving life with the help of his first guide dog companion, Vince.
